Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA): It is part of United States copyright law. The Online Copyright Infringement Liability Limitation Act (OCILLA) appears as Section 512 within Title II. This law regulates the penalties for copyright infringements detected on the internet and, by "establishing procedures for proper notification," protects content creators on behalf of Online Service Providers (OSP).
These procedures enable the content owner or an authorized representative to send a DMCA Takedown Notice to the OSP, making it possible to remove infringing material from the servers.
Scope: All text, game interfaces, animations, imagery, brand identity, certificates, bonus mechanics, and database design are protected.
